Chile de Arbol
‘De Arbol' means 'tree-like' in Spanish. This vigorous plant can reach a height of 120 cm in one season and resembles a tree. Chile de Arbol is similar to the Cayenne pepper, but has slightly less heat. The thin pods are about 10 cm long and color during ripening from green to red. This takes about 80 to 100 days after germination. This chili originates from Mexico and dries well. In Mexico, it’s often used to make wreaths or ristas. Very good in salsas, soups and sauces.
