Description
The Espelette pepper is a Basque pepper, which originally comes from Mexico. Already in the 16th century this pepper was introduced in France. In the city Espellete the pepper is traditionally hung outside in rista’s to dry during an annual festival. When the peppers are dry they are typically ground to powder. Because of its mild and delicious aroma this pepper is frequently used in Basque cuisine.
