Habanero Red Savina
Until 2007 the Red Savina was the hottest pepper according to the World Guinness Book of Records. In February 2007 the Red Savina was replaced by the Bhut Jolokia. With 577,000 Scoville Units the Red Savina is twice as hot as the average Habanero and 50 times hotter than a Jalapeno. The Red Savina is high yielding and the plant will grow 60 cm to 100 cm tall. The wrinkled pods taste good and are about 5 cm long and 3.5 cm in diameter. They color from green to bright red. After repotting it takes about 100 days before the pods are mature.
