Pequin
Pequin gets very small peppers. Like the Chiltepin, the Pequin is a "bird pepper". This variety is very similar to the original wild varieties. The peppers are very hot and color from green to orange and finally to red. The Pequin requires patience. After about 100 days after germination the peppers are mature. Plants fruit best in the second year and should therefore be brought indoors to overwinter. The plant can grow fairly large in this second year, approximately 1.20 m.
